Introductory statement

The course emphasises the role of technology in the modern business environment, enabling our graduates to appreciate and utilise technology in meeting real-world business goals. You will acquire technical skills in software engineering and system design, as well as an understanding of how these impact organisations. Software engineering projects conducted throughout your degree are taught in conjunction with industry professionals and give you the opportunity to test your skills against real-world problems. Alongside a range of technical skills, you will develop a range of industrially relevant skills, including those in communication, planning and management.

Assessment Strategies

The following evaluation scheme will apply to the student’s assessment processes:

  • Continuous Assessment Tests (CAT) is 60%. This may be in the form of assignments, quiz, mid-exams.
  • At the end of each semester, all students will sit for a final examination with a maximum score of 40%. The exam will be a composite of questions from different units covering the module.
  • The final-year students undertake a scientific project in one of the research area related to this program.
  • A module is passed if its expected learning outcomes have been achieved. The assessment of each module shall generate a single mark between 0% and 100% expressing the extent to which the learning outcomes have been achieved. The pass mark for each module is 50%, for practical modules it is it is estimated to 60%.

Upon successfully completing the Computer Science Management program offered by our educational institute of Professional Studies, the program combines solid academic theory with the practical skills and knowledge that are vital to businesses, culture, government and society. Students gain an in-depth understanding of computer architecture, languages and systems — areas vital for industry careers, graduate study or research in computer science management.

Computer Science

Computer Science (Business Option)

Computer Science (Cyber Security Systems Option)

Students prepare to defend sensitive data as a computer system security analyst, cryptanalyst, application security consultant or information assurance engineer.

Computer Science (Healthcare Informatics Option)

Careers associated with this option include healthcare informaticians, healthcare software engineers, healthcare technology support specialists, and health information systems administrators.

Computer Science (Networking and Telecommunications Option)

Gain the knowledge and skills for information technology careers as a telecommunications analyst, network administrator or telecommunications programmer.
